In 2024, the 33rd edition was a fantastic event, with thousands of motivated runners and a large group of enthusiastic walkers on Saturday. While the weather was a bit warm, we’re taking action this year by adjusting the start times to make the experience even better.

The organization was smooth, and the atmosphere in the city and villages was incredible. We’re already excited for another unforgettable, renowned Leiden weekend.

For those who didn’t know: All distances are a single loop, including the marathon. Walkers follow the same route on Saturday as the runners on Sunday. With over a thousand volunteers, we’ve got you covered. Our motto has always been simple: It’s all about you!

Register by May 1, 2025. No late registration, so be sure to sign up early – last year, some distances sold out quickly!

Walking

The Walking event on Saturday is now in its 6th year and has become super popular. We hope you’ll join us!

In 2024, we had an amazing edition. Thousands of motivated runners and, even more so on Saturday, an enthusiastic group of walkers. Although it was a bit warm, especially on Sunday, Saturday’s weather was perfect, the organization was seamless, and there was a fantastic atmosphere in the city and villages. We can’t wait for another wonderful Leiden weekend.

Volunteering

The Leiden Marathon is an event that relies on the dedication of enthusiastic volunteers. 

Whether you want to help along the course, at the start, or finish, your contribution is invaluable. As a volunteer, you’ll receive a special shirt, a vest, a lunch package, and a drink after the event.

Additionally, you’ll play a key role in creating an unforgettable experience for both participants and spectators.
