Generally, the approach to maternity care in the Netherlands is natural and non-interventionist, and there are fewer screening compared to other countries. Home births are common, and, given the nature of the Dutch healthcare system, women interact most with midwives. Parents will receive support from a maternity nurse for up to 10 days.
