During the week of 13-18 September 2022, the European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) and the EUTalentOn will take place in Leiden. We need your help to ensure the success of these events! As a volunteer, you will be able to join parts of the program and be a part of these intellectually stimulating and inspiring events with young bright minds.
During EUCYS, 140 winners out of 65.000 participants in national science competitions in the EU and beyond (14-20 y.o.) compete in the EU Contest for Young Scientists. EUCYS is the most important student science fair in the EU, showcasing the best student scientific achievement in the EU and beyond – and Leiden may host it this year!
At the same time, teams of highly motivated young academics (21-35 y.o.) compete to find innovative solutions to grand societal challenges, in a brand-new event which aims to challenge young bright minds to shape the future: the EU TalentOn. These teams will work on projects in the fields of climate adaptation, cancer, healthy soils and clean waters, and smart and climate-neutral cities.
We need you!
On the one hand, we are looking for 'buddies' who will work as team managers to each support a team of young academics during the EU TalentOn. Financial compensation is available for the buddy position, and the buddies need to fulfil certain requirements. See the information sheet for how you can apply here.
At the same time, we are looking for volunteers to support the EU Contest for Young Scientists and the EU TalentOn by welcoming contestants and visitors, providing information, event facilitation and preparing and dismantling event locations. We hope to hear from you! Note that the registration deadlines are August 7th. We would be very happy if you share our call for help with anyone who might be interested.
