Background
A 'highly skilled' migrant or a 'knowledge' (kennismigrant) migrant is defined by age and salary. The income requirement must be met for the purposes of a residence permit. The salary criterion for highly skilled migrants is adjusted annually per the Foreign Nationals Employment Act. For the coming year (with effect from 1st of January), the salary criterion will be increased.
